October 2006
Currently 78 of the 100 independent living apartments have been reserved. The
current reserved residents are getting ready to make their interior selections.
They will be choosing from three color schemes which include carpet, tile and
countertops. This has generated a lot of excitement among the residents!
The residents recently attended a seminar on how to downsize presented by Sue
Lyons from Home Organizing Angels. Sue offered many good tips on what to do with
all their “stuff” and how to get ready for their big move! In January she will
return with a presentation on getting their house ready to sell. Selling and
moving can be such a daunting task and the residents are eager for as much
information as they can get.
Our next gathering will be in December with our 2nd annual Christmas luncheon.
The entertainment will be provided by the female show choir “Steppin’ Out.” We
are looking forward to a fun-filled afternoon!
Construction update: The assisted living wing is almost completely buttoned up
with the roof being completed and the windows installed. Some exterior brick has
been installed so the building is beginning to show a little personality now.
The independent wings are scheduled to be buttoned up by the end of October or
early November so weather should not be a factor as the work continues inside.
